Why a blog?

When I started my previous and only blog in 2007, blogging was a huge phenomenon. My domain name was abrams.se. It became very popular for a few years! I offered a "Ask a Psychologist" feature, which received a flood of questions. It was a bit like a column in a weekly magazine. It was astonishing how many people had questions and what they thought would be answered.

People used to read other people's blogs back then, commenting and discussing. That was before social media took over and became platforms where you could do the same thing but more efficiently. Think about it – how many groups are you a member of on Facebook, for example? There you have access to all those groups in one place. Nobody bothers typing in different web addresses anymore to get to different writers.

You can still blog in the 2020s, though. It's just that you have to announce it on social media and link to the post. And the thing is, almost nobody comments directly on the blog page, even if there's the option to do so. We'd rather leave comments on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. If we comment at all. Most people just click "like," and that's fine.

Anyway, I'm starting a blog here now. There are several reasons. Here are a few:

Abramsutbildning.se is a company website. The services I offer and the events you can register for are only briefly described. Technically, the site is a Shopify store and built for short product descriptions. Here I can write more personally about my thoughts on the various subjects and training courses I work with.

If someone finds something they're interested in on the site, such as a course or therapy session, most people want to know a little more about the person before booking an appointment or signing up for something. They can get to know the person better by browsing a blog.

A third reason is that all psychosocial services are associated with a certain set of values. A worn-out word, I know. But it refers to something that is both important and real. If I write more freely about the topics I work with, the underlying values will automatically become apparent. Those who wish to can gain a realistic understanding of what I stand for as a professional.

And finally: I work on a wide variety of tasks and assignments and will write about many different things. Besides organizing my own thoughts by writing about them, keywords in the texts are found by Google. And that can be important. Because what can't be Googled, doesn't exist. Almost.

So stay tuned! All new posts will be announced on Abrams Utbildning's Facebook page . If you follow it on Facebook, you'll get a notification about new posts.
