Psychotherapy, couples therapy
Psychotherapy, couples therapy
Reception in Stockholm, in Vara or digitally.
Psychotherapy with me is for those seeking professional support in dealing with psychological strain, relationship difficulties, or more persistent life patterns they want to understand and change.
I work with three main pathways into therapy. One concerns mental health problems and psychiatric conditions, particularly psychosis-related difficulties, severe psychiatric illness, and situations where family members may also need support or guidance. The second concerns relationships, sexuality, intimacy, and personal life choices. The third is my practice in Stora Levene, where I also see people from the local area with a broader range of concerns.
This means the work may involve anxiety, worry, low mood, and stress, but just as often relationships, self-esteem, sexuality, identity, and personal development. In therapy, we work to understand the patterns underlying the difficulties and to find new ways of relating to them.
If you are specifically seeking sexuality-focused psychological treatment, you can read more here.

I am a licensed psychologist in Sweden with more than 25 years of experience in adult psychiatry, and since 2024 I have also served as psychologist for the Swedish Schizophrenia Fellowship. My work is behaviourally oriented, with a focus on practical tools, structure, and change, while also grounded in an existential perspective. At the deepest level, therapy concerns how you want to live and what direction you want to take. You can read more about my background under “About” in the menu.
When relevant, psychotherapy may also draw on the knowledge, models, and working methods that appear in my teaching and elsewhere on this website. This may include psychoeducation, counselling methods, motivational work, issues of interaction and response, stigma, relationship patterns, or other psychological themes. The starting point is always the individual person and the life situation they are in. Methods are used as tools within the conversation, not as fixed programmes.
What you can expect
In the first session, we go through your situation and I explain how we might continue the work. I also give an estimate of the likely time frame. For many people, 3 to 10 sessions is enough, depending on the nature of the difficulties.
From the outset, you will know what the process may look like and what it costs. You are not committing to a fixed number of sessions and may end the therapy whenever you wish.
For those who want it, the therapy can also be complemented by professionally used psychological instruments. One example is an established personality assessment based on the Big Five model, completed through a secure link and used as a basis for reflection, discussion, and written feedback. The purpose is not to label people, but to provide a language for psychological self-understanding.
